How I Live the Dream:

This show is about more than recipes—it’s about how to live with joy and ease every single day. With a bit of effort and pre-planning, every day of your life can come together stress-free. For me, this means I rarely toil over a hot stove, cooking and stirring all day long. I break down recipes into easy parts—such as pre-making Roux to keep in the fridge, whenever I want cajun food—so when it’s time to cook I’m simply piecing things together. This show also includes tips to make everyday life more enjoyable. I’ll share with you ideas on organization (even if you’re a messy person like me), how to sleep more comfortably, and how to hang a hammock. Finally, this show includes recommendations of specific products that have made my life better, and I think you’ll like too! For me, living the dream is making the most of every moment, of every day—doing things I enjoy, and being stress-free.

About the way I cook:

I rarely cook from recipes. I cook from instinct. In truth, I’ve had a hard time writing down the recipes for this show, and that’s because I use my senses as my guide when I cook. How things look, smell, feel, and (of course) taste help me figure out what a recipe needs. So please bear with me as I describe to you the ways I cook! And remember, everything should be done to YOUR taste. So if you think it needs more salt, then add more! The same goes for soy sauce, lemon juice, hot sauce, ketchup, fish sauce… whatever it is, as long as it tastes delicious to you, then go for it!
